Hello, we have OCS 2.3.1 and we have noticed that USB scanners are not detected. For example, Canon Image formula DR-F120. Is there a way to solve it?
I'm trying to install OCS Agent 2.3 on Ubuntu 17 But an error is happening when running the installer.
This is the error message:
root@ubuntu:~/agent# perl Makefile.PL
Can't locate inc/Module/Install.pm in @INC (you may need to install the inc::Module::Install module) (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl/5.24.1 /usr/local/share/perl/5.24.1 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl5/5.24 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl/5.24 /usr/share/perl/5.24 /usr/local/lib/site_perl /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/perl-base) at Makefile.PL line 2.
BEGIN failed--compilation aborted at Makefile.PL line 2.
The repository version is 2.0.5 and does not collect much information.
So we set up a fresh Server 2.3.1 which is running fine. Now we have the problem that the Agent 2.3.1 for macOS and Windows is not reporting detailed memory information. When we use the 2.1.1 client everything gets reported fine.
See screenshots.
Is this a known bug?
Hello,
I'm trying to move/upgrade our OCS Inventory to the latest version.
I chose to do a brand new installation for the server (version 2.3.1) on a Linux CentOS 5.11: after installing the required PHP and Perl modules (the VM already had its L.A.M.P. applications), the procedure worked well and the server is now up with the default options.
Then I uploaded the file OCS-NG-Windows-Agent-Setup.exe from the OCS agent bundle (the agent version is 2.1.1, since we still have several Windows XP machines in our network) through the Web Administration Interface: also this upload worked.
Then I setup OCSLogon.exe to distribute the new agent (the PCs in the network already have an older version): I uploaded the file on a Samba share (on a machine other than the OCS Server) and configured its execution in the netlogon script with this line:
\\pdcsamba\setup\OcsLogon.exe /NO_SERVICE /S /DEPLOY=2.1.1.1 /SERVER=http://192.168.10.16/ocsinventory /DEBUG /EDITLOG
The script executes and creates its OcsLogon.log file in the %TEMP% folder, but after execution I cannot see any information about my PC on the OCS Server. This is the log file:
******************************************************** Starting OCS Inventory NG Logon Installer 2.1.0.3 on 30/08/2017 at 9:29:46 Checking if not already running...OK Parsing command line arguments...OK Searching OCS Inventory NG Agent installed version...OK (1.0.3.2) OCS Inventory NG Agent version 1.0.3.2 installed, upgrade to version 2.1.1.1 required. Download timeout is set to <60000> millisecond. Download does not use HTTP proxy server. Downloading file <http://192.168.10.16/ocsinventory/deploy/OCS-NG-Windows-Agent-Setup.exe> without server authentication...OK (C:\Users\CISCOD~1\AppData\Local\Temp\OCS-NG_Agent_Setup.exe) Starting OCS Inventory NG Agent installer...OK (exit code is OK) Windows does not automatically start OCS Inventory NG Service, so starting Agent <C:\ocs-ng\Ocsinventory.exe>...OK (exit code is 0) All done, exiting ;-)
Is really everything OK in this procedure (despite the log file, it seems that the existing agent on the PC isn't upgraded... the log remains the same in repeated executions)? What's missing to complete the inventory?
Thanks in advance for answering...
Hi, I've been registering new computers for several weeks in my OCS Inventory database, but these are not registered, since I check for my browser and they do not appear. If you know what solution you can give I thank you for sharing it. Thank you.
I have the Resources Monitor opened and the assigned memory keeps growing, and also, there is a very notorius and evident difference in the memory consumption among several computers revised (!). Here some data, one for a Windows 10 computer and one for a Windows 2012 Server:
Windows 10 computer
Server Windows 2012
And OcsSystray.exe has: 3 MB reserved, and no more than10 MB of memory used in all computers and servers revised.
Just after restarting the windows 10 computer, and the Resources Monitor shows only:
By the way, if I use the Task Manager (taskmgr.exe) instead the Resource Monitor, the values of used memory are (total physical memory reserved for virtual processes):
Well, I revised both a Windows 10 computer and a Windows 2012 Server with OcsAgent 2.3.0 and the commited and working set are just around 5 MB for the first one and 5 and 10 MB for the server. So it seems to me, there is a memory leak bug!
I opened a bug report here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ocsinventory-windows-agent/+bug/1724619
Thank you
Hi,
the first thing is to check the communication between the client agent and the OCS server ... For an OCS agent under Windows, edit the file : C:\ProgramData\OCS Inventory NG\Agent\OCSInventory.log
If there is a communication error, it must be indicated in this file.
> If that is right, check the IP address / DNS and port of the server in OCSInventory.ini file (in the same folder).
If you communicate in https, SSL must be enabled and the certificate (shared with the server) must be copied to this folder.
Note : In your case, the service "OCS Inventory service" must be started and if you have to change the contents of the OCSInventory file, you must stop this service first.
Regards, Stéphane
Hello, this is the result of the file that mentions that I review and execute the agent, I check in my database and I do not see the data of the equipment yet. Thank you and stay tuned.
