OCS Agent 2.3.1 (Windows) - Memory leak

$
0
0

I have the Resources Monitor opened and the assigned memory keeps growing, and also, there is a very notorius and evident difference in the memory consumption among several computers revised (!). Here some data, one for a Windows 10 computer and one for a Windows 2012 Server:

Windows 10 computer

  • Initital values:
    • Commit (reserved memory for OcsService): 98 MB
    • Working Set (memory in use): 13 MB
  • 1 hour later:
    • Commit (reserved memory for OcsService): 103 MB (+5 MB)
    • Working Set (memory in use): 17 MB (+4 MB)

Server Windows 2012

  • Initital values:
    • Commit (reserved memory for OcsService):  44 MB
    • Working Set (memory in use): 48 MB
  • 01:20 hours later:
    • Commit (reserved memory for OcsService): 49 MB (+5 MB)
    • Working Set (memory in use): 53 MB (+5 MB)

And OcsSystray.exe has: 3 MB reserved, and no more than10 MB of memory used in all computers and servers revised.

Just after restarting the windows 10 computer, and the Resources Monitor shows only:

  • Commited memory: 6 MB
  • Working Set: 13 MB

By the way, if I use the Task Manager (taskmgr.exe) instead the Resource Monitor, the values of used memory are (total physical memory reserved for virtual processes):

  • Windows 10 computer: 4 MB, OcsSystray.exe: 1.5 MB

Well, I revised both a Windows 10 computer and a Windows 2012 Server with OcsAgent 2.3.0 and the commited and working set are just around 5 MB for the first one and 5 and 10 MB for the server. So it seems to me, there is a memory leak bug!

I opened a bug report here: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ocsinventory-windows-agent/+bug/1724619

Thank you

Hi,

memconf command is reported as missing. Install it and be sure that the path is correct for accessing memconf.

Hello Admin

I install OCS finished NG server and Agent, when OCS-inventory-NG-Agent running updated to the server, will use user account for update data to server. please help to me, How can I do that. because now I use IP public for OCS server, so if OCS-inventory-NG-Agent don't need to account for update to server, I think that way dangerous for me. I have some branches, so I need to use public IP for server.

Remonter d'inventaire / Version Agent et Server

Bonjour ;

Merci !

Registry changes not working

Hi! I am trying to deploy some changes in windows registry of the workstations. Despite the log returns successful, the changes in registry don't proceed. I've already tried through EXECUTE method, writing the command REGEDIT -S FILE.REG. Also through LAUNCH method attaching the .REG file. In both cases, I attach the .zip file with the .BAT or .REG. I also tried to store the .REG file and then EXECUTE the command to modify the registry. None of these methods worked. The registry values remain unchanged. I would like to know what am I doing wrong and how to proceed these changes.

OS Server: Red Hat 6.9

OS Agent: Windows 7

OCS Server: 2.3.1

OCS Agent: 2.0.1

Thanks,

Raphael Angelo

Bonsoir,

Hi,

I use OCS inventory NG to have the view of all my computer devices.

My problem is : if my computer is not connected to my docking station when the ocs agent is running, my devices are lost in the inventory. For exemple, the monitor informations are lost.

How can i configure my OCS agent (or server side) to keep these informations (in history) ?

Regards,

Matthieu
