I have downloaded the new version of Windows agent (2.4.0.0) and there is no ocslogon.exe in the decompressed folder.

it is normal ?

OCS Inventory doublons

Bonjour,

Sur OCS Inventory, je rencontre un problème de doublons malgré après avoir configuré "AUTO_DUPLICATE_LVL". Les valeurs cochées par défaut à l'installation d'OCS étaient "hostname", "serial" et "macaddress" mais même en cochant toutes les valeurs c'est à dire "model", "uuid" et "assetTag", des ordinateurs me sont remontés en doublon.

Auriez-vous une solution ?

J'utilise la version OCSNG_UNIX_SERVER_2.4.1 - sur debian 9.4 x64, et pour l'agent la version 2.3.1.1.

Je vous remercie par avance pour votre aide et pour le logiciel que vous mettez à disposition.

this is the windows agent, it also doesn't actually perform an inventory giving a 400 error (the agent it just updated worked perfectly, settings are the same)

COM SERVER => HTTP Post response received <HTTP Status Code #400>

and look like the agent only get partially updated.

whereas the previous version everything matched

Ocsagent 2.4.2 shows no OS version in Ubuntu 18.04

In ocsreports, All computers page, only "Ubuntu" is shown, without OS Version. The ocs agent was Installed from sources.

Lines registered in ocsinventory-agent.log:

Good Evening,

first i hope you can answer my questions. every little bit of help is welcome.

i want to know if the agent is mandatory to communicate with the server?
i want to know if it is possible to inventory a device without an agent and maybe instead give the device credentials to the OCS Server and inventory it through SSH?

I try to use the OCS Deployment Tool to deploy on a Windows 10 machine, but i always get the errors mentioned in the issue above.

Error 400 226 Pb de com avec l'agent

Bonjour,

J'ai un problème que je n'arrive pas à résoudre. J'ai un vieil agent 2.0.0 sous windows que je souhaite mettre à jour.

Pour cela, j'ai fait une mise à jour du serveur selon la procédure du WIKI (de  2.3.1 de mèmoire à la dernière 2.5),  j'ai récupéré mes fichiers de conf et cela semble ok.

La ou cela se gate c'est quand j'essaye d'utiliser le dernier agent 2.4.0.0, impossible de le faire communiquer avec le serveur. J'ai a peu près changer tout les paramétres , mais impossible.

J'ai désinstallé et réinstallé le client.

J'ai réduis le fichier ocsinventory.ini à a sa plus simple expression :

Juste pour info,

j'ai tenté l'installation avec l'avant dernier version de l'agent 2.3.1.1 et ça marche.

A mon avis il y a un bug, lors de la comparaison des versions du serveurs et  du client.

J'ai jeté un oeil sur le code, mais je ne suis pas compétent en perl, pour en être sur à 100% ou pour proposer un correctif.

Encrypted password in Unix config file

I have seen the Windows Agent can be deployed and insert an encrypted password into the agent config file. See here https://github.com/OCSInventory-NG/WindowsAgent/blob/master/OPTIONS.TXT

In the Unix agent, how can we do this? I tried to build the agent with the latest build and use the scripted installation:

env PERL_AUTOINSTALL=1 perl Makefile.PL && make && make install && perl postinst.pl --nowizard --server=https://server/ocsinventory --user=user --password=pasword --realm=realm --logfile=/var/log/ocsinventory-client/ocsinventory-agent.log --now --crontab

Doing this inserts the password as cleartext in the agent config file.

Uninstall Linux agent

I want to uninstall an old Linux Agent (installed with the Makefile procedure) in order to install the new agent (but from RPM this time).
The make uninstall is not working, so could you please tell me how to do it?
Or maybe just directly install the new agent from RPM?

inventaire vers plusieurs serveurs sous mac os X ?

Est-il possible d'avoir une remontée de données matérielles et logicielles vers 2 serveurs d'inventaires différents sous mac os X ?

version système du client à inventorier =>mac os X 10.13.6

version ocsinventory agent => 2.4.2

version ocsinventory des 2 servers => 1.02 et 2.5

La 1ère remontée s'effectue correctement vers le serveur version 2.5 après avoir installé le client via son paquet .pkg et le paramétrage adéquat pour accéder au serveur.

L'autre remontée vers le serveur version 1.02 est effectuée actuellement via une crontab éditée sous le compte root de la machine cliente, mais les remontées vers ce second serveur sont très partielles (pas de n° de série, pas d'information sur le disque, sur la mémoire, sur les logiciels ...)

Y a-t-il un autre moyen que l'appel à une crontab pour lancer un second agent ocsinventory en lui passant les paramètres adéquats d'accès au second serveur d'inventaire ? Si oui comment ?

Pour contacter deux serveurs avec l'agent unix, il n'existe pas d'autres solutions : OCS est fait pour fonctionner avec seulement un seul serveur. D'ailleurs il y a des risques en utilisant deux serveurs que les informations stocké dans l'agent soit modifié et foutent la zone.

Concernant ton autre problème : l'agent en version 2.4 est compatible uniquement avec le serveur en version 2.4 ou supérieur. Donc il n'y a aucune chance que ça marche correctement. De plus le serveur en version 1.0.2 a plus de 10 ans maintenant, il est temps de mettre à jour.

Il est généralement inutile d'avoir deux serveurs : si c'est pour séparer des inventaires pour plusieurs services différents dans une entreprise par exemple, il suffit juste de faire une délégation de droit sur une partie du parc : ainsi, une personne peut devenir admin sur OCS (ou seulement visualiser) de seulement une partie des machines mais pas du reste.

Further testing I found it works via GPO using bat file. If run directly on Windows 10, I must right click and Run as Administrator.

Auto edit of the "administrative data" from client

There is some "Administrative data" configured on the server side. I know how to edit them manually but what is the way of doing it automatically with informations send by the Linux clients ?

Methode installation agent Linux?

Bonjour,

J'utilise OCS depuis plusieurs années maintenant et je souhaiterais savoir quelle était la méthode la plus propre et la plus à jour pour installer l'agent OCS sur Linux? Mes clients tournent essentiellement sur Centos 7.
Historiquement je faisais l'installation à la main via ce wiki: http://wiki.ocsinventory-ng.org/index.php?title=Documentation:UnixAgent/fr#Installation_interactive_de_l.27agent

Ensuite j'ai vu qu'on pouvait l'installer en ajoutant les dépôts pour yum, mais bizarrement l'agent doit être configuré à 2 endroits pour fonctionner: /etc/ocsinventory pour un lancement manuel et /etc/sysconfig/ocsinventory-agent pour un lancement par cron. Cela est un peu contraignant à gérer.

La 3e méthode que j'ai vu est l'installation par git pour créer un package clé en main en fonction de sa distribution Linux. Je n'ai pas encore testé.

Quelle est la méthode la plus fiable, laquelle est dépréciée? Merci de votre aide.

[Issue]

Hi,

My Agent for OS X doesn't download the package.

The "Active Status" of the package remains "Notified" for several days. 

Agent for Windows can download the same package with same cacert.pem.

Both Agents for OS X and Windows can upload the inventory information to the server.

Any idea ?
